Knowing the exact day and date of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection is not essential to one’s eternal salvation. If it were, the Scriptures would have made it abundantly clear.
In Romans 10:9-10, the Apostle Paul codified the essential elements of one’s personal profession of faith in Christ as:
- A verbal confession of Jesus as Lord – recognizing His deity.
- A visible reception of Jesus as Savior – believing God raised Him from the dead; accepting His death as the sufficient payment for their sins.
However, to prove Jesus was Who He said He was, and that He did what He said He did, for the reason He said He did it – i.e., to prove He was the “Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world,” Jesus had to fulfil every biblical prophecy regarding the Messiah. Therefore, the date and time of His crucifixion and His resurrection had to be according to the pattern God established with the Hebrews at Mount Sinai.
This booklet, written in sermon-outline form, is to prove that Jesus was the God-sent Messiah, that His death did pay the punishment for our sin, and that His resurrection from the grave assured every believer of their eternal home in heaven.
Many thanks to Dr. Ed Vallowe, who is already in heaven, for opening my eyes to this wonderful truth. May the Holy Spirit now do the same for you.
