On Wednesday at 6:00 PM, we will continue our study of the Epistle of Jude, written by Jesus’ half-brother, Jude, to warn new Christians about corrupt teachers who had infiltrated the church. It calls believers to “contend for the faith” by standing firm against false doctrines, rejecting moral compromise, and showing mercy to those who are struggling.
In 2 Thessalonians 2:1-4, the Apostle Paul defined the rejection of God’s Holy Word as absolute truth as “falling away,” or “apostasy,” and the embracing of Satan’s lies. He said such apostasy would be followed by the revealing of the Antichrist, the seven years of tribulation, and the return of Jesus Christ as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
In our study so far, we have looked at:
- The History of Biblical Truth:
- The Expectation of Truth – Genesis 3:15
- The Incarnation of Truth – John 1:1-14
- The Proclamation of Truth – Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 2:20
- The Preservation of Truth – 1 Timothy 4:1, Jude 1-24
- The Revelation of Truth – Revelation 19:11-13
In this next study, we will describe “The Battle for Truth,” which begins in the home, then the local church, and then in those few areas of the culture where we still have influence. Just look at what the parents did in Texas to get the Bible taught as Religious History in the public schools. Praise the Lord! I say it again, the greatest issue facing the church today is this: can it survive another generation with the restoration, proclamation, and preservation of truth?
