Inspiration—Confession with sacrifice Scripture Reading—Ezra 10:1-9
- Describe Ezra’s confession.
- What was the people’s confession to Ezra? (Vs 2)
- What evidence reveals they didn’t give up? (Vs 2-3)
- What were the two words of encouragement that Ezra gave them? (Vs 4)
- How did the people respond? (Vs 9)
- What were the two things that Ezra charged them to do? (Vs. 11)
Application—Repent
- Have you ever fallen “prostrate” before God?
- Have you ever been “unfaithful” to God?
- Have you made your confession of all know sin?
Application—Return
- Humble yourself before God this morning and stay there for a while. Pray until god breaks your heart of all known sin.
- Be quick to confess those sins, as convicted.
- Separate yourself from those sinful acts, and those who continue to practice them.
- Pray, confess your guilt.
- Make a sacrifice unto the Lord for your unfaithfulness—perhaps a day of prayer rather than a day of play—or just an hour of study instead of food—a new book about the character of God rather than a new outfit—maybe even a gift unto the Lord, over and above your tithe.
I invite you back tomorrow for DAY TWENTY-SIX of “REDISCOVERING YOUR FIRST LOVE!”
