Inspiration—Faith                                  Scripture Reading—Romans 10:1-10

  1. There are two things that Paul said that we must do to be saved. (Verse 9)
    • Confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord
    • Believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead.
  2. In verse 10 we see the result of believing in your heart:
    • Righteousness—approved standing before God
  1. Also in verse 10, we see that confessing with your mouth results in:
    • Salvation—being made acceptable unto God
  1. Looking back in verse 9 we see the evidence that Jesus should be the LORD of our lives:
    • God raised Him from the dead!
  1. Paul said the Jews were not saved because of (or by) their own (verse 3) righteousness but by their Faith (verse 6) in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
  2. So our Faith should be in the righteousness of Christ!

Application—Repent

  1. Have you ever completed the two steps outlined in question 1?
    • Have you confessed with your mouth that Jesus is Lord?
    • Have you believed in your own heart that God raised Him from the dead?
  1. Confessing with the mouth involves standing for Christ in the crowd. It is easy to believe God raised Jesus Christ from the dead on Easter Sunday in church! But, when you confess with your mouth, “I AM A CHRISTIAN”—you are giving outward evidence of your inward faith.
  2. Express your faith in Christ today by confessing Him to someone you love. You don’t have to preach a sermon, just tell them the “story of Jesus” and how He has changed your life.  Ask them if they have seen any difference in your life.
  3. Express your faith in Christ by saying “no” to an evil opportunity. You cannot continue to walk with the crowd and walk with Christ—your choice is the expression of your faith!
