Isaiah 43:1-7

It’s amazing how three words can change our whole attitude of life, especially when they are said by the right people at the right time, and we know they are true. Those three words are “I love you,” and when they are conveyed to us through the Word of God, they have the power to radically transform our lives.

God speaks those words over and over in Scripture.

But perhaps never so powerfully and tenderly as in Isaiah 43: “You are precious in my sight, and I love you.”  God reminded His people, that even though they were in exile for their disobedience to Him, they still belonged to Him, and He loved them.

Isaiah proclaims that God will be with them as they pass through the waters, and that their offspring will be gathered from east, west, north, and south. If they listen closely, they can hear the words: “I love you. I have called you by name. You are mine.”

God’s power is in these three words—for Israel, and for us. If we truly hear them, and receive them, we can be reminded that we belong to God, and our future is in His loving hands.
