Inspiration—Deliverance                       Scripture Reading—Hebrews 2:1-18

  1. In Hebrews 2:3 Paul uses the word “escape”. Reread this verse and think of what it means.  Think of it this way, Jesus was God’s final Word to man, because He is the full and final revelation of God to man.  Who else has the words of eternal life?  To ignore or neglect Christ is the “unpardonable sin”, because there will be no other way to escape the wrath of God’s judgement upon those who reject Him.  In Matthew 10:39, Jesus said:  “He who finds His life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it”
  2. Who first spoke of salvation (verse 3)?
  3. Who is the writer referring to as “those who heard”? (verse 3)
  4. Who “tasted death” for everyone? (verse 9)
  5. Who is the Author of our salvation? (verse 10)
  6. Who has the power of death? (verse 14)
  7. Who was rendered powerless by Christ’s death? (verse 15)

Application—Repent

  1. Our tendency is to take the Good News and make it old news—we become “dull of hearing” if we do not stay alive to His Spirit. Is the gospel still “good news” to you?
  2. Jesus delivered us from eternal death, and from the slavery to sin. Are there any areas of sin you are still holding on to?

Application—Return

  1. Pray, thanking God for the “Good News” of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and for your personal deliverance from the penalty of sin, which is death, and the fear of death and the grave.
  2. Write a note of thanks to the person God used to tell u the Good News of God’s
  3. You now hold the KEY of deliverance for someone else. Start sharing the Good News with everyone you meet. If they become truly saved, they will be eternally grateful.
