AMERICA’S ULTIMATE WAR
POWERFUL FORCES ATTACKING THE WORLD’S
MOST CHRISTIAN NATION
AREN’T MERELY POLITICAL AND IDEOLOGICAL
THEY ARE INSANE AND DEMONIC

Recently, some of America’s most widely respected Christian leaders have sounded the exact same spine-straightening alarm:

Rev. Franklin Graham: “A storm is coming, and we’d better be ready, because it appears as if all the demons in hell have been turned loose.”

Dr. Ben Carson: “The increasingly irrational nature of America’s political and cultural battles suggests that supernatural forces are playing a role in them.

Author/broadcaster Eric Metaxas: “We are in our third existential crisis in America. The first was the Revolution, the second was the Civil War. We are now in our third: We’re dealing with various forces arrayed against the founders’ vision, whether it’s Islamo-fascism or cultural Marxism. They hate liberty. They hate the liberty that you get from the Bible – all of it comes out of the Bible. … The American Left is Satanic.”

Demons? Supernatural forces? Satan?

Consider this: After 250 years, the United States of America, unquestionably the greatest, freest, most successful and most Christian nation in world history, finds itself being rapidly transformed into something unrecognizable … and once unthinkable. Transformed not just by rage, violence and rebellion – that’s all happened before – but by mass delusion and shockingly bizarre political, cultural and spiritual forces openly dedicated to the total annihilation both of America’s form of government and its bedrock Judeo-Christian values. Almost everywhere one looks, genuine insanity – and yes, evil – can be seen waging war against everything good and decent in America.

There are the continual threats and repeated actual attempts to assassinate President Donald J. Trump, whom many absurdly compare to history’s most infamous genocidal psychopath, Adolf Hitler, who murdered 11-17 million innocent people, according to the Holocaust Encyclopedia. There’s the widespread promotion of wildly pathological beliefs about gender identity, causing thousands – that’s correct, thousands – of American children to have their breasts or sexual organs amputated. There’s the “treasonous” (to use Trump’s term) Biden-era policy of having invited and facilitated the full-scale foreign invasion of America, including hordes of convicted murderers and rapists, plus countless child-sex-traffickers, fentanyl dealers, Chinese communist spies, Islamic terrorists and Satan-worshipping (MS-13) gang members. And then there is today’s rapid ascendence of smiling and glib communist (“democratic socialist”) and Islamist politicians, both loyal to worldviews utterly at war with America’s Constitution and Christian culture.

In virtually every area of life, bizarre and malignant forces have somehow attained a major stronghold in “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” How? Why?

The new madness evades traditional explanations

Today, the customary paradigms long relied on for explaining America’s political and cultural divisions no longer apply.

In previous eras, the major party affiliations “Democrat” and “Republican” meant something, just as their associated ideological labels “liberal” and “conservative” corresponded to comprehensible sets of concerns, values and priorities. But while “conservative” and “Republican” still mean roughly the same as a generation ago, “Democrat” now encompasses an entire spectrum of destructive, corrupt, demented and treasonous agendas, while the word “liberal” is rarely heard anymore, since it no longer fits most of today’s Democrats. (Imagine, for example, the absurdity of describing New York City’s Marxist-Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani – who after swearing his oath of office on the Quran went total communist by proclaiming “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism” – as a liberal!)

Those intent on transforming America today aren’t “liberal.” They’re corrupt, deranged and dangerous. They claim a man can magically become a woman simply by thinking and believing he’s a woman (and vice versa) … and by amputating a few inconvenient body parts and taking opposite-sex hormones with multiple profound, horrendous and irreversible negative effects.

Meanwhile, all those popular candidates backed by the ever-more-influential Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) insist they want to eliminate America’s police and prisons, abolish the U.S. Senate and the Supreme Court entirely, and even the presidency itself. Oh, and they also insist on allowing everyone to vote in America’s elections, including illegal aliens and convicted criminals.

Think it can’t get any more insane? One candidate for Wisconsin governor, the DSA-backed Francesca Hong, even has a history of publicly calling for the abolition of Thanksgiving and Christmas! Another, William Lawrence, running for a House seat in Michigan, has insisted on a “world without borders,” demanding that America “redistribute all the land and all the money” it has to make up for America’s “evil deeds.” In other words, these people – by any reasonable, reality-based measure – are genuinely stark raving mad. OK, they’re crazy, so what does psychiatry say about all of this?

Since the usual political and ideological paradigms cannot adequately explain today’s metastasizing madness, can psychiatrists and psychologists at least shed a little light? What sort of pathology is infecting so many Americans today?

Unfortunately, while providing some useful insights and information, psychiatry and psychology cannot really explain the present craziness either. In fact, they are a part of the problem.

Both the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association – the latter being the developer and publisher (since 1951) of the psychiatrists’ diagnosing bible, “The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders,” or “DSM” – are well known to be under the sway of leftists and LGBT activists. That means, in turn, literally justifying and de-pathologizing clearly deranged behavior if that serves the Left’s ever-more unhinged agenda.

For example, in May 2013 when the fifth and most recent edition, so-called “DSM-5,” was released, the serious mental illness of “gender identity disorder” – a man convinced he’s a women, or a woman convinced she’s a man, a condition universally recognized as seriously pathological from the dawn of time until 13 years ago – was officially de-pathologized. That is, classified as completely and totally normal.

Well, almost totally normal. In place of “gender identity disorder,” the “DSM” substituted a brand-new diagnosis called “gender dysphoria,” meaning that although it’s totally normal for a woman to believe she’s a man and have her breasts cut off in pursuit of that goal, it’s a problem only if she feels bad or conflicted about it (probably because of society’s lack of understanding, bigotry and “transphobia”). However, the little-known but actual reason “DSM-5” even included that puzzling new “gender dysphoria” diagnosis was to provide doctors with a medical code they could submit to insurance companies so as to obtain financing for their grotesque but lucrative mutilating transgender surgeries.

To be clear: All of this is not only insane, it is evil. Serious long-term research has documented that if children who suffer from gender-identity confusion are simply left alone – meaning, no doctor chops off their body parts and/or plies them with devastatingly destructive cross-sex hormones – virtually all of them, 80-95%, simply outgrow the transgender feelings and any desire to surgically “transition,” and embrace their actual God-given gender by the time they reach adulthood. In so doing, they also are spared the horrendous 40% attempted-suicide rate among transgender people in the U.S.

In surveying all of the preceding,
the painful truth becomes increasingly evident:
Millions of Americans have been deceived and seduced by evil and,
in many cases, fully given themselves over to dark, malevolent forces.
Hating God and Christianity

Many analysts and commentators today marvel at the strange and seemingly illogical political partnership between Leftists and Islamists, even giving the phenomenon names like the “Red-Green Alliance” and “Islamo-Leftism.” But how, since each belief system is wildly in conflict with the other, can they possibly be allies? That’s easy. They’re joined together in common cause because they share a common enemy: Both are AT WAR with Christianity, and as the ancient proverb attests, “The enemy of your enemy is your friend.” “But wait!” some may still object: “Marxism isn’t explicitly anti-Christian like Islam is – it’s just a political-economic system, not a religion.” Wrong.

Although artfully disguised with nicer, softer-sounding names like progressivism and socialism, Marxism has become so prevalent in American education, culture and politics – most recently with the meteoric rise of the DSA – it may be useful to pause and consider the stunning, if little known, reality of Marxism’s true origin. Most people believe Karl Marx, the originator of the ideology bearing his name, was an atheist who sincerely came up with a system, however flawed, of reorganizing society and government to make it more equitable and just for everyone – to help the oppressed get back some of what was taken from them by the evil oppressors.

But Marxism’s inventor was not some well-intentioned academic who happened not to believe in a Supreme Being. Karl Marx HATED GOD, vowing revenge on the Creator and His Heavenly realm, and said so in his writings. That is what Marxism is really about – hatred of God and His laws and ways, and a rebellious and utterly insane attempt to replace the sovereign Creator’s perfect plan for mankind with a diabolical one that nevertheless sounds appealing (kind of like the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden). As scholar and renowned Marx expert Paul Kengor, author of many books including “The Devil and Karl Marx,” reveals: Marx’s poems and plays are rife with pacts with the devil, suicide pacts, violence, vengeance, fire, despair, destruction and death. Marx waxed poetic about “Hellish vapors,” about the “Prince of Darkness” selling a “blood-dark sword [that] shall stab unerringly within thy soul,” of “Heaven I’ve forfeited, I know it full well, My soul, once true to God, Is Chosen for Hell.”

Marx summed up his attitude toward God perfectly in his poem, “Invocation of One in Despair”: “So, a god has snatched from me my all, In the curse and rack of destiny. All his worlds are gone beyond recall. Nothing but revenge is left to me.” Wait – “Nothing but revenge is left to me”? That sounds exactly like Satan. Kengor described Marx and his legacy in an interview with author John Zmirak on the evangelical Christian media platform “The Stream”: “There were times when Marx seemed to be possessed by demons,” recorded Robert Payne in his chapter “The Demons.” This appeared in his seminal 1968 biography of Marx. “He had the devil’s view of the world, and the devil’s malignity. Sometimes he seemed to know that he was accomplishing works of evil.” What is undeniable is the evil associated with and wrought by Marxist-communist ideology: at least 100 million dead in the 20th century alone.

In short, Marxism/communism/socialism/progressivism/leftism –
choose your term,
they’re all essentially the same, just different degrees –
is a rejection of God and His laws, values and perfect plan for mankind,
in order that seductive, lying, egomaniacal psychopaths can set themselves up as gods … and in the process impoverish, enslave and destroy millions.

What can good Americans do? Fortunately, America is still full of many millions of thoroughly decent, moral, conscience-driven people who truly love God and already understand, at least on an intuitive and bottom-line level, everything written here. They know Satan and his demons are attacking their beloved country in a multitude of ways. Indeed, as Scripture makes clear from Genesis to Revelation, evil will do everything in its power to wreak havoc in this world, and in so doing infect, deceive, seduce, corrupt and draw away from God as many people as possible. That’s literally what the devil does for a living. Fortunately, a caring and all-powerful Creator God has made ample provision for us to deal with the present darkness and much more, through the power, grace and eternal life He makes available to every human being through the atoning death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. This is not just an affirmation of the salvation of souls after this earthly life is over, but a reminder of the very real spiritual power, wisdom and courage available – and absolutely necessary – to successfully navigate this world, filled as it is with every sort of danger, temptation and full-blown evil.

MAN PRAYING CALLS FOR A REJECTION
OF THE ARCANE DOCTRINES PURSUIT OF LUCIFERIAN IMPULSES TO EAT OF THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE.

In Iowa and Washington, two city council meetings opened up with prayers to Satan as if it was a totally normal, non-Hellish occurrence. Leftist Marxists are literally ceding the country to Hell.

Remember these blasphemous occurrences when you vote this year – the soul of our nation is at stake.

If you thought your local government was going to Hell, looks like you were right. In Ottumwa, Iowa, a city council meeting was kicked off with a Satanic prayer that was delivered by former council member and current Satanic Temple worshipper Matt Dalbey. A local pastor was horrified by the incident and interrupted the meeting to condemn the blasphemy.

“Dear Dark Father” Dalbey started the prayer with “Dear dark father.” He continued by urging the room to “embrace the Luciferian impulse to eat of the tree of knowledge and dissipate our blissful and comforting delusions of old,” to judge people by “concrete actions” rather than “arbitrary social norms,” and to hold “only to that which is demonstrably true. Let us stand firm against any and all arbitrary authority that threatens the personal sovereignty of one or all.”

He closed with the line that caused the room to erupt:
“That which will not bend must break,
and that which can be destroyed by truth
should never be spared its demise.
It is done! Hail Satan!”

The Ottumwa Courier reported that Dalbey said in a private message that the prayer is used by The Satanic Temple of Iowa, of which he is a member, though he said it “has nothing to do with the belief in a satanic deity.” What a load of bull crap. Of course, it has to do with worshipping Satan – you just said a prayer to the head demon. “Yeah, they call themselves Satanist. But, you know, I understand their metaphor there, but that’s no big deal. I like what they stand for,” he said.

One Pastor Takes a Stand

As Dalbey left the podium, the council recited the Pledge of Allegiance as if nothing Hellish had just transpired. New Life Center Pastor Rick Bick spoke out of turn to comment on the prayer. It’s shameful he was the only one. “Let’s just reverse this curse that was put on our city. That ‘Hail Satan’ is not welcome here,” Bick asserted. Council member Cara Galloway told Bick he should speak during the portion of the meeting designated for citizens to raise concerns. That is typical leftist equivocation. “It needs to be done now,” the pastor declared. “I appreciate what Ms. Galloway is saying, but that was a curse put on the city. Most of you know that, and we need to just stop and reverse it.”

YOUR MONEY IS GOING DIGITAL
AND SOON IT MAY COME WITH CONDITIONS

Something significant is happening to money in Canada, but Americans shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking this is merely a Canadian experiment. Six of Canada’s largest banks — BMO, CIBC, National Bank, RBC, Scotiabank and TD — have announced that they are jointly exploring a Canadian-dollar tokenized deposit system. The banks say the project is intended to provide customers with faster and more efficient payments. But there is another word in the announcement that deserves attention. “Programmable.” The banks specifically say their project seeks to deliver “faster, more efficient and programmable payments” to Canadian customers. The first phase would allow tokenized deposits to move efficiently between Canadian financial institutions, while the longer-term goal includes connecting the system with other emerging digital-asset initiatives. For most consumers, this will probably sound like another technological upgrade. Faster transfers. Instant settlement. Fewer delays. Payments operating around the clock. And there are legitimate advantages to all of those things. But programmable money introduces a capability that traditional money has never possessed on this scale: money can potentially interact with rules governing how and when a transaction takes place. That changes the conversation.

A Dollar That Can Follow Instructions. Cash is remarkably simple. A twenty-dollar bill does not know who owns it. It doesn’t know your political opinions, your location or what you intend to purchase. It simply represents value. Programmable digital money is different. Conditions can potentially be incorporated into transactions through software. A payment could be released when a contractual requirement is satisfied. Funds could automatically move when goods arrive. A financial transaction could execute only after predetermined conditions have been met. Many applications would be enormously useful. But the same capability raises an unavoidable question: If money can obey rules, who ultimately gets to write the rules?

Canada’s banks have not announced a system allowing the government to dictate what groceries Canadians may purchase or where individuals may spend their money. Claims that this has already happened go beyond the evidence. But that isn’t really the point. The significance is that financial infrastructure is being developed in which programmability becomes a normal feature rather than a theoretical possibility. And Canada isn’t doing this in isolation. This Is Becoming A Global Financial Project. Canada has joined Project Agorá, an international initiative organized by the Bank for International Settlements. The project is experimenting with a multi-currency system combining tokenized commercial-bank deposits with wholesale central-bank money on a shared programmable platform. And it is no longer merely theoretical. In July 2026, 28 financial institutions and central banks across Asia, Europe and North America conducted real-value transactions through Project Agorá. The Bank for International Settlements says the technology can embed “workflow logic, compliance requirements and conditional payment triggers directly into transactions.” The average settlement time during the test was approximately 80 seconds. The project now involves eight central banks and more than 40 financial institutions. It spans major currencies and financial centers across North America, Europe and Asia. In other words, the financial world isn’t simply digitizing money. It is experimenting with making digital money interoperable across borders — and programmable.

Europe is moving aggressively into this new financial environment. The EU is pursuing the digital euro while simultaneously requiring member states to provide European Digital Identity Wallets by the end of 2026. Those wallets are intended to allow Europeans to prove their identity and store official credentials for interactions with government and private services. Canada and the European Union also maintain a formal Digital Partnership covering areas including digital identity, data governance and cybersecurity. At their October 1 Digital Dialogue, officials discussed digital credentials and wallets. Meanwhile, Canadian and European financial officials have discussed the digital euro, Canada’s developing stablecoin framework and tokenization in financial markets. There is no announced agreement to merge Canada’s proposed bank tokens with the digital euro. But the broader direction deserves attention.

Digital identity is expanding.

Digital money is expanding.

Tokenization is expanding.

Cross-border interoperability is expanding.

And programmable transactions are moving from laboratory concepts toward real-world financial infrastructure.

It would be easy for American readers to look north at Canada or across the Atlantic at Europe and assume this is something happening somewhere else. It isn’t. The United States is already deeply involved in the same transformation.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York participates in Project Agorá alongside central banks from Europe, Britain, Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Switzerland. Meanwhile, J.P. Morgan has already launched JPM Coin, a U.S.-dollar-denominated deposit token available to institutional clients. The bank says its blockchain infrastructure has processed trillions of dollars in transactions and billions of dollars on an average day. Washington is also building a regulatory framework for another form of digital money: payment stablecoins. Under the GENIUS Act, federal banking regulators are developing rules governing permitted stablecoin issuers, reserves, customer identification and other requirements.

This does not mean the United States has adopted a retail central bank digital currency or that Washington can suddenly program how Americans spend every dollar. It does mean America is traveling down the same broader road toward tokenized, always-on and increasingly interconnected digital finance.

The technology may differ from country to country. But the destination could still produce something remarkably similar: Money existing on digital networks capable of communicating with identity systems, compliance systems and financial institutions almost instantly. The architecture is becoming global. Canada Has Already Crossed One Important Line. Canadians have another reason to pay attention. During the 2022 Freedom Convoy protests, the Canadian government invoked the Emergencies Act and gave financial institutions authority to freeze or suspend accounts associated with the blockades without first obtaining a court order.

The Bible Described Conditional Commerce Long Ago. For students of Bible prophecy, the implications are difficult to ignore. Revelation 13 describes an extraordinary future economic system in which participation in commerce becomes conditional. Those who refuse allegiance to the Beast are unable to “buy or sell.” For generations, Christians could understand the prophecy theologically while struggling to imagine how such comprehensive economic control could actually be enforced. How could authorities monitor millions — potentially billions — of transactions? How could someone’s identity be connected instantly with permission to participate in commerce? How could restrictions follow an individual from one financial institution to another — or even across borders? Those questions aren’t nearly as difficult to answer anymore. We should be careful here. Canada’s tokenized deposits are not the Mark of the Beast. The digital euro isn’t the Mark. America’s stablecoins aren’t the Mark. Digital identity isn’t the Mark. Project Agorá isn’t the Mark. But Bible prophecy does tell us that a time will come when identity, allegiance and economic participation become connected in ways that determine whether a person may buy or sell.

For the first time in human history, the technological architecture capable of facilitating something resembling that level of economic control is becoming conceivable — and increasingly ordinary. And perhaps that is the development worth watching most closely. It Probably Won’t Be Sold As Control No government needs to announce, “We are building an economic control system.” The transformation will be sold on its legitimate benefits. Faster payments. Less fraud. Lower transaction costs. Instant international transfers. Protection against money laundering. Digital identity. Twenty-four-hour banking. Programmable payments. And many of those improvements could genuinely make life easier. But technology created for convenience can also create capabilities its original users never intended. Once the infrastructure exists, its ultimate character depends upon who controls it, what rules are attached to it, what safeguards protect individual liberty — and whether citizens retain meaningful alternatives.

Christians throughout Nigeria continue to face devastating violence, and boxing star @kingryan has used his platform to bring greater awareness to their suffering. Across parts of the country, Christian communities have experienced deadly attacks, the destruction of churches and villages, and the displacement of countless families. One Nigerian watchdog organization estimated that more than 7,000 Christians were killed between January and August 2025. However, that particular estimate remains disputed and has not been independently verified.

The ongoing violence in Nigeria is complicated and has also resulted in the deaths of Muslims. Nevertheless, numerous reports have documented Christian communities being specifically targeted by jihadist organizations and armed militant groups. For many families, the consequences have been heartbreaking, with loved ones killed, homes destroyed, and entire communities forced to flee.

Hebrews 13:3 reminds believers to remember those who are imprisoned and mistreated as though they were suffering alongside them. As Christians, we must not ignore what our brothers and sisters in Christ are experiencing around the world. Continue praying for the protection of Christian communities in Nigeria, for justice for those who have suffered, and for peace throughout the country.

DAN HART, OCTOBER 10, 2026

A newly enacted law in California that requires virtually all employers to give employees “anti-hate speech” training is raising red flags, as experts say that the mandate could force churches to provide training that conflicts with sincerely held biblical beliefs regarding sexuality, gender, and marriage. Late last month, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) signed into law AB 1803, a measure that requires all employers with five or more workers, including all churches and other nonprofit religious organizations, to provide employees with “anti-hate speech” instruction. But as observers like the California Family Council (CFC) are pointing out, the legislation does not define “hate speech,” instead handing the job to the state’s Civil Rights Department. The bill mandates that the training must confront workplace speech that “vilifies, humiliates, or incites hatred” against individuals based on what the state has already deemed a protected characteristic, which includes sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

The CFC goes on to observe that the statute, which will go into effect on January 1, 2028, never mentions churches or religious nonprofits and their First Amendment rights to hold sincerely held religious beliefs about sexuality and gender.
It also “fails to separate protected expression from unlawful conduct,”
noting that the Supreme Court held in 2017 that
“The First Amendment has no hate speech exception.”

Greg Burt, who serves as vice president of CFC, further pointed out the problems with AB 1803’s vague language regarding key terms that it says constitute “hate.” “What does it mean to vilify? What speech actually humiliates?” he wondered during “Washington Watch with Tony Perkins” Tuesday. “[M]any times legislators consider many Christian beliefs when they’re expressed — especially regarding sexuality or gender — they accuse us of hating people. That’s [the] farthest thing from my mind. But we are simply advocating for our view that sex is determined by biology, and God created us both male and female. Well, to many people that is humiliating and that incites hatred. And so that’s the problem with this legislation.”

For about two decades, a polished Sunday experience could fill seats.
Hire a tight band, invest in production, land a charismatic communicator,
and the people would come.
That formula worked. And then, quietly, it stopped.

This is not an argument against excellence. Churches that gather people should gather them well. But across the church landscape today, something is shifting in ways that lights and haze machines cannot fix. The question worth asking is not how to become cooler. It is what comes after cool.

The Season of Cool Church Is Ending

Flip back a decade or two. Simply being more relevant than the church down the road gave churches real traction. Trade the choir for a band, upgrade the sound system, add some production value, and unchurched people would actually show up. That was a genuinely new idea at the time. It is no longer new. Most cities now have several well-produced, culturally fluent churches competing for the same people. And the people those churches are trying to reach have largely stopped caring. Research from Barna Group consistently shows that indifference to church has grown across every demographic, particularly among younger generations. Having the best Sunday experience in town does not overcome that indifference. If someone is not interested in church, the quality of your production is not the factor that changes their mind.

Three Reasons the Cool Church Model Has Lost Its Edge

1. Cutting Edge Keeps Moving Faster Than Churches Can Follow

Technology has compressed the lifecycle of every trend. What feels fresh one year feels dated the next. People hold infinite content in their pockets, available instantly and usually free. The bar for what counts as a compelling experience keeps rising, and it rises faster than most church budgets can track. The result is a kind of cultural saturation. Audiences are harder to impress, quicker to scroll past, and less patient with anything that feels like it is trying too hard. Churches chasing cool have discovered they are always one step behind the culture they are trying to reach.

2. Cultural Indifference to Church Has Deepened

A generation ago, a cool church had a built-in advantage: even skeptical people had some ambient curiosity about church. That ambient curiosity has largely evaporated, especially among adults under 40. Production value only matters if someone is already inclined to walk through the door. When the underlying openness is gone, the cool factor becomes irrelevant. You can build the most impressive Sunday experience imaginable and still watch your community walk right past it.

3. Imitation Replaced Innovation

When cool church worked, churches everywhere borrowed the aesthetics without studying what actually drove the growth. They copied the band setup, the lighting rig, the casual stage wardrobe. What they missed was the substance underneath: genuine pastoral care, deep community, missional clarity. The result was a wave of churches that looked similar but lacked the roots to sustain growth. And when the aesthetics stopped producing results, those churches had nothing to fall back on. The deeper cost was cultural. Decades of imitation crowded out the innovation that the church desperately needs right now.

Five Keys to What Actually Drives Church Growth Now

The path forward is not a return to irrelevance. Culturally disconnected churches reach no one. But the churches seeing genuine, sustainable growth today are moving beyond production into something harder to replicate and more durable.

Think of these as the new compelling. They are not easy to package, but they are exactly what people are hungry for.

1. Authenticity Over Aesthetics

People have developed sharp radar for what is performed versus what is real. They can tell when a church is curating an experience versus genuinely living something out. Authenticity does not mean sloppy or unpolished. It means leaders who are honest about struggle, churches that practice what they preach, and communities that do not pretend to have everything figured out. In a culture drowning in carefully managed content, genuine transparency is rare and powerful.

2. A Sense of Mission That Is Bigger Than the Church Itself

Churches that are focused primarily on running a compelling Sunday service tend to become self-referential over time. The mission becomes the program. The goal becomes attendance. The churches drawing people in today, particularly younger adults, are oriented toward something outside themselves. They are in the neighborhood. They are addressing real needs. They talk about the world beyond the building, not just what happens inside it. Mission kills narcissism. And in a generation looking for something worth giving their lives to, a church with genuine outward focus is a powerful thing.

3. Hope That Is Actually Transcendent

Practical, applicable preaching has real value. People benefit from teaching that connects to their everyday lives. But a church that only offers life improvement tips is not offering the Gospel. It is offering self-help with a Christian vocabulary. What people in a distracted, anxious, and often despairing culture actually need is a grounded, unsentimental hope. Not optimism. Not positivity. Hope rooted in the resurrection, in a God who meets hate with love and turns death into life. The churches that are growing are not shying away from this. They are leaning into transcendence while staying deeply connected to the real lives of their people.

4. Community That Cannot Be Replicated Online

No church will ever out-Disney Disney. The entertainment budget simply is not there, and more importantly, entertainment is not the point. What no platform, algorithm, or streaming service can offer is what a local church can: people who know your name, show up when things fall apart, and hold you accountable to becoming who you say you want to be. That kind of community is genuinely scarce, and people are hungry for it. As churches grow larger, they have to work harder to grow smaller at the same time. Small groups, cohorts, serving teams, neighborhood gatherings. The bigger the gathering, the more deliberate the relational infrastructure needs to be.

5. Experimentation as a Leadership Practice

The churches that shaped the last generation of church growth were willing to experiment, fail, and try again. Much of that experimental spirit stalled when the attractional model got codified into a template. What is needed now is a fresh willingness to try things that have not been tried before. Not every experiment will work. Most will not. But the churches that will matter in ten years are the ones asking different questions today rather than refining answers that no longer work.
